I've assembled
some of my favorite photographs of my Dearest Mother and the memories I have of her. Her life here on earth was cut
very short. In 1954 she found she had lung cancer. We were living in Taos, New Mexico and had to move back to
Clovis, New Mexico. The following years we were in and out of hospitals in Lubbuck, Texas to Albuquerque, New Mexico,
but with no success. Those who knew her loved her very much. She died on my birthday as I turned sixteen, January
29, 1956. I have remembered her and have missed her being there to share in all the ups and downs of my life.
My Mother at the age of thirtheen went to live with her grandparents on her Daddy side of the family. My Mother's Father
died before she was born. His name was James Franklin Watson, (Born) January 5, 1901 (Died) December 6, 1920.
He was only 19 years old. James married Annis Cordella Dover March 5, 1920 in Wenoka, Ok. Annis was (Born) April
15, 1904 (Died) May 27, 1984 in Phoenix, AZ
The following pages will
show both sides of Mother's family and how in just a short time of 36 years, she touch so many hearts. She
will always be remember with loving memories.
SPECIAL THANKS: To my brother,
Jim P. Powell for collecting most of all the family background data, and for framing all of the pictures.
Hold fast to your memories, to
all of the cherished moments of the past, to the blessings and the laughter, the joys and the celebrations, the
sorrow and the tears. They all add up to a treasure of fond yesterdays that you shared and spent together, and
they keep the one you loved close to you in spirit and thought. The special moments and memories in you life will
never change. They will always be in your heart, today and forevermore.
